Tourism Economic Power
The 48.7 million travelers visiting Orlando during 2007 generated $31.1 billion for the local economy, according to research.  In 2007, visitation increased by 2% from 47.8 million visitors from the previous year, while visitor spending experienced a 4.7 percent uptick.

Based on domestic visitor volume, the estimated 45.9 million Orlando travelers in 2007 represented 82 percent of total spending, or $25.6 billion. And although the area's 2.8 million international travelers accounted for 6 percent of visitation, the segment was responsible for 18 percent of spending, contributing $5.5 billion to the local economy.
